We just switched to inmotion hosting for our server and the encrypting of emails that are being sent from our email address is coming up with an error message. The only way we are able to send emails is when they are not encrypted. Error message only occurs when we are trying to send securely. Unsecured emails send fine.

Error message is as follows:

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) secure182.inmotionhosting.com timed out. Try again.

What sort of encryption are you talking about?

You can encrypt the message text using s/mime or gpg. But this doesn't require any intervention or support from the server.

You can use a secure connection using SSL or TLS in which the server and client exchange keys and pass login data (username and password) in encrypted form. Please understand that this isn't end-to-end encryption and doesn't apply to message text.

I see on their site that they appear to offer SSL on both incoming and outgoing. I take it this is where you are having trouble?
