I am getting the following error message:

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

Redirection from the same address works properly in IE.

Can you load this page directly:

https://login.live.com/

One possible reason for the error message you got is corrupted cookies. You can remove just your live.com cookies to see whether that helps (if you are working on anything in your email, save changes first...).

While viewing a page on the site*, try either:

  • right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

* If you can't get to any part of live.com, you can open the Cookies dialog on a different site, and edit the site name at the top to live.com to list the relevant cookies.

Then try logging in again. Success?

Are you using a bookmark or are you starting with the main (home) page of this website?

If you use a bookmark then try to navigate to that page starting with the main page or the sign in page in case there is a problem with this bookmark.

This problem has gone away. Microsoft is messing with e-mail.
