Crash ID: bp-cf1c7e1e-2420-4383-aa10-ee95e1171002 Whenever I open firefox it crashes. It came out of the blue with no apparent reason. Safe mode doesn't work either and when I refreshed, it crashed after I tried to search for something!

Sorry to hear about the crashes and thank you for the crash report ID.

This particular crash signature has been reported 9 times in the past month and I am not seeing a particular pattern to it. But only being able to run Firefox for 1 second obviously is a serious problem; it makes it difficult to suggest changes.

If you can get Firefox to run for 20 seconds, please try this:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste skia and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the gfx.canvas.azure.backends preference and delete the word skia (and the extra comma) from the list. In other words:

From: direct2d1.1,skia,cairo To: direct2d1.1,cairo

(3) Repeat with the gfx.content.azure.backends preference

This might not take effect until after your next crash. I mean, until after the next time you exit Firefox and start it up again.

Does that make any difference?

Oddly enough, it works today... Maybe just restarting fixes it?
