I reloaded my OS to a NEW Linux and one with BSD. BUT I can no longer log in to my bookmarks dammit. Says it sent mail to my account and my email account was not working. IT works fine. Dam.

Hi, It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device (typically a mobile device such as a tablet or a telephone) running a copy of Firefox. The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.

If you have a copy of your Firefox profile for desktop Firefox, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and other data. Please have a read of these article.

If you have a copy of your data on a mobile version of Firefox, please follow these instructions to connect it to Firefox Sync to copy your data.

The warning that I am locked out of my account due to my gmail account not working that does in fack work says "If this is a valid email address, let us know and we can help unlock your account" it is a valid email account. I contacted but get the above response rather than unlocking my account that YOU locked saying my email does not work when in fact it does????

I called an administrator. Please wait

Such e-mail is always sent to the address on file with the website.

Check your user profile at the site. Also, check your junk mail folder.

Never post any personal information because an adware robot could find it, and start sending you all kinds of spam. This includes e-mail, phone, and home information.

Please remove that information from your post.

Please edit your email address out from above as this is a public forum and bots and spammers will get your email address.

So did you read my post to you the one that says if using as a singular and not syncing to another device ( plural) it is prob lost and gone when you did what ever reloaded your os as the token you had you lost.

If have another device get it off of that.

Firefox Support has no control or access to Sync servers nor contact with the people that look after such.

In the following URL at the end you will see instructions to create a bugzilla account and post the info there for them : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-response-firefox-sync-verification-email-faq

More specifically you need to use the link below to open a bug for investigation:

First wait 24 hours until trying again. If it fails again and you still have access to the email account, then please create a bugzilla.mozilla.org account and use this link to create a request.

Two issues where I have seen this happen with gmail accounts used for Firefox sync:

  1. Do you have receipts turned on?
  2. Do you have any auto-responder on for the email account?

Lastly, are you blocking accounts@firefox.com?

It was not intentional to cause frustration, but to keep integrity around the accounts accessing Mozilla servers.
