text changed into images in pdf printed pages
Hello,
my question concerns the printing of web pages to pdf document using pdf creator (v3.3.2) under Win10.
• From Firefox 64.0 64 bits, I obtain a pdf document with images and no texts, as if it was screenshots images. • From Internet Explorer (sorry ! It was just to test the problem...) I obtain a pdf document with mixed texts and images if there are any on the web page.
That's the case with the page "https://www.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/new/". And it's better for me to get document with texts and images.
So far I know, I haven't change any particular option of FF, or of pdf creator. And it's the same with or without background images option. And it's the same with the "Microsoft print to pdf" printer.
Has anyone any idea on how to get pdf document mixing texts and images similarly to the web pages ?

Hi HektorParis, when large parts of the page use downloadable fonts, Firefox generates an image instead of sending text. I'm not sure why that is, but the only workaround I've found is to flush out downloadable fonts from the larger parts of the document. I typically do that the hard way, by using the developer tools to change style rules in the page. I would love to know of an easier way that doesn't ruin other things (like causing missing icons). Maybe a script can switch them...
Hi jscher2000,
thank you for your quick reply. I understand what you mean... but It's a little bit complicated for me. I think I will continue to use IE to get pdf documents... for the moment.
I've tried with Google Chrome and It's the same result than with FF.
If you want to experiment, I'm gradually adding features to this extension. It has a hideous UI at the moment but will eventually graduate to a nicer toolbar drop-down panel.

Well, I will and will give you some feedback. Thanks.
