How do I stop all incoming gmail emails from being copied into its Archive folder?

Device: PC using Windows 10 Tbird 60.4.0 (32bit) Server name imap.gmail.com Copies & Folders / Message Archives is unchecked. I move emails I want to Archive manually.

I also noticed down at the bottom of my left folders listings, there is a repeat folder name with a gmail sub-folder called Important that also gets all copies of incoming emails.

This does not happen on my iPhone.

Gmail does not have copies in folders, it has a copy with a label for each folder it is in. Result. ALL mail is in the all mail folder which Thunderbird designates the archive folder. Some of that mail is displayed in other folders, like the inbox and the important folder, because it has appropriate labels to place it there. Don't want the important folder log into gmail with your browser and turn the option off. priority inbox or something similar is what gmail calls it.
