Hello @dpbaril,

Would you help us give some more information regarding this search bar widget issue ?

Sure. What else do you need?

Okay. Here is a more discursive description of the use case.

Most Android devices, by default, come with a Google Search Bar widget on the primary page of home screen. This bothers me for two reasons. First, it uses the Google Search engine which sucks as much data from you as it can and second, it lists the results in a Google browser, again tracking you. The DuckDuckGo search bar is better in that it is more privacy-respecting, but it no longer allows search results to be displayed in the default browser (Firefox) but instead insists on the use of the DDG browser which sucks (not your data, just plain sucks).

What I am suggesting is that Mozilla provide a search bar widget along with the Firefox browser which, at the user's discretion, could be installed on the home screen and when the user enters a search in the search bar, Firefox is invoked using the default search engine (e.g. DuckDuckGo) and lists the results in a Firefox browser window.

I hope this clarifies the question.
