I'm on Firefox release 76 - I need to create a backup of my bookmarks to import to another PC, but I can't find an Export option in the Library menu.

There's no Export option on my Library menu - although there's an Import. I also can't see a Backup. I need to create a file of my bookmarks - how can I do this?

Hi, you need to call up the stand-alone Library window. Either:

  • "Show All Bookmarks" -- available under Library > Bookmarks (way at the bottom)
  • Ctrl+Shift+b

More info: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks

Firefox also has a Backup/Restore feature which uses a JSON-format file. It might be slightly more complete. However, a Restore completely replaces whatever current exists on the "receiving" Firefox, so if you need to add rather than replace, using Export/Import would work out better for you.

More info: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
