I get "Primary account email required" when trying to create a new account, even after removing the email as secondary from my other account

I'm trying to set up a new account using new@example.com but I keep getting a "Primary account email required" message. I found new@example.com was set as a secondary email for the old@example.com account. I removed it and old@example.com no longer has a secondary email, but I'm still getting the "Primary account email required" message.

I am having this same problem! https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1271595

Looks like Firefox accounts have a bug, you guys must not be properly removing secondary emails from you database. Please take a look, extremely frustrating!

You can try to delete the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder and delete the Weave folder (Sync was formerly named Weave) with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
