SMTP error message sending outgoing emails from my Thunderbird app on my laptop (using a Frontier domain email). No problem w/incoming emails.
Error message: "Sending of the message failed. The Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.frontier.com does not support the selected authentication method. Please change the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing Server (SMTP)'." Can you help? Was on the phone with Frontier for an hour - they say incoming settings are correct (no problem receiving emails), as well as outgoing. We tested sending an outgoing message from their webmail server, which was successful. Thanks, dbleagle

I am sure I read somewhere that frontier were now using yahoo mail under contract. It that is the case then the authentication methods of the past can not be used. Can you confirm my recollection. Is yahoo involved or was I dreaming?
