Passwords not accepted by Thunderbird
Despite reading similar support recommendations, Thunderbird V91.10.0 will not accept my passwords. I have three email accounts that I'm using with TB, and have used the same passwords for years. Now the program will not accept the passwords. Specifically, I cannot send outgoing mails. Incoming mails do arrive, but not the outgoing ones.
When trying to send an email, I get this message: "Log-in to server smtp.googlemail.com with user name [email address inserted here......@gmail.com] failed." Then, options for 'Retry' or 'Enter new password'. If I try to enter/create a new password, still it is not accepted. If I persist, I get this:"Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.googlemail.com. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'.
In Server settings/Authentication method, I tried switching from 'Normal password' to '0Auth2', but still the same problem.
Can anyone help with this? I'm lost....

My Gmail POP and SMTP stopped working today as well. I updated to Thunderbird 91 and changed the following settings:
1. Select the `Account Settings` menu item from the `Tools` menu.
2. Click on your Gmail account and choose `Server Settings`.
3. Change the `Authentication method` pop-up menu to `OAuth2`.
4. Click on your `Outgoing Server`. Click the `Edit` button and change the `Authentication method` pop-up menu to `OAuth2`.
That solved the problem for me.
