I do not like opening up a tab and then typing in a URL to go where I want to go. It was much better when I could search for something, and it would come up in a separate window. How do I change it back?

You can hold down the Shift key while left-clicking a link on web pages.
You can add a New Window button to a toolbar via "View > Toolbars > Customize" to open a new window when needed. You can also drag (text) links onto that button to open links in a new widow.

The Control key only opens another tab. I want to see each window in the firefox icon at the bottom of my page. Is this a program change? If so how do I install the earlier version that does not change everything to tabs?
