I don't see any problem in Firefox 4, accessing from California.

It looks as though they got a new SSL certificate on 4/30/2011. It was signed by a VeriSign certificate issued in 2006, so you shouldn't need an update for Firefox to consider it valid.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies

right-click the page, choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then reload.

Does that help?

If you mean the text that you see if you click the How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure? when you use http://www.bnz.co.nz/personal-banking then that is OK. Firefox can only display identity information if there is a secure (https) connection.
