After I create a working ApTab-PIN it is not there when I re-open Firefox.

I bookmarked several sites, then created an aptab PIN in the ap tab bar that worked when I opened it. After I closed Firefox and reopened it, the aptab PIN was no longer there. Using Mac OSX, 10.6.7.

App tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the file sessionstore.js in the Firefox Profile Folder

Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

It worked. I had to restart the computer to save the new settings. I learned a lot about my history settings and went on to then change the junk mail settings in my Mail system. Thank you.

While this is a resolved thread the App Tab pinning SHOULD NOT be session controlled, they should be application saved and not be removed unless one actually removed them manually.

This needs to be fixed in a future update of Firefox 4

What's the point of app tabs if clearing history erases them? Another "brilliant" idea devs. FF4 is just one disappointment after another. Maybe you should have stayed original, instead of trying to become Firefox Chrome.

It is about privacy. If you use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear data when you close Firefox then you indicate that you do not want to keep data from the current session and that includes APP tabs and Tab groups. You can clear history at any time, only not automatically when you close Firefox.

So, in other words, the new feature of "app tabs" is overshadowed by the long standing 3rd party add-on of Morning Coffee? Alternately, FF's position is "Hey, check out this new feature.....if you don't like security" Laughable.

I am now finding that the app tabs are still missing when I return to FF after a day or so. This is after making all of the changes to Clear History, etc. I am not familiar with the technical issues and it seems like this would be a good function if it worked.

I did not clear my history and I still lost my app tabs.

Would it not be simple enough for app tabs to be an add-on. With preferences etc...

That way we can stay secure and use it !!!!!
