Is there a way to print out a list of all my bookmarks, browsing and search history in firefox?:

I would think the lists would be to big to want to print, but with HTML pages you can use Find ("Ctrl+F") within a page, show the url of each link with a bookmarklet (HREF:), and you can use Print Preview, or actually print the page.

Export Bookmarks to an HTML file:

  1. Bring up the Bookmarks Library List ("Ctrl+Shift+B')
  2. Click on the "Import and Backup" on it's menu bar
  3. Click on "Export HTML..."
  4. Choose a location and filename i.e. c:\temp\bookmarks.html

Showing the URLs for links in the Exported file

The listing will not show the urls, but you can show them with the "HREF:" keyworded bookmarklet (also shown as "HREF visible") that you obtain from many of my pages including this page where it is also described:

The changes will not be made to the file itself, but you would be able to print what you see.

Print Preview of HTML file:

From menu bar use File > Print Preview
If the menu bar is not showing, first press "Alt" key to see menu bar
(Firefox and up:) "Firefox button" > Print... > Print Preview

Printing file:

From menu bar use File > Print ("Ctrl+P")
If the menu bar is not showing, first press "Alt" key to see menu bar
(Firefox and up:) "Firefox button" > Print... > Print

Viewing your Browsing History:

Printing all of your history I think would be out of the question. 44,000 entries single spaced would take well 800 pages, if you printe 100 urls on a page.

You can be selective by Searching in your "History" for something like "mozillazine.org kb" (without the quotes) to just find entries you've been to in the MozillaZine Knowledge Base (KB). But I don't know of any way of printing the columns of data that you see through Firefox alone. You can select groups of rows that you see, or use "Ctrl+A" to Select all and paste that into notepad or similar, but all you will copy will be the url names.

Your Google Search History:

You can view your Google Search History as an HTML file and therefore print it, but again it would be too much to print, but it does make for interesting reading. If you are logged into Google your search history is stored. This storing of your history gives you the ability to search only within articles that you actually read, making it far easier to find an article that ran across and read before through a Google search.
  • Browse All Google Search History (you must be logged in to Google, when the searches were made, and to view your Google search history
    https://www.google.com/history/lookup?hl=en
  • Regardless of what the documentation for Google Web History indicates you do not need to actually install the Google Toolbar.

If this question is really about transferring your Bookmarks and History to a new profile, such as on a new computer that questions has been answered many times and is a lot easier than trying to work from a list of bookmarks and history.
