Firefox has gone haywire and won't connect to the Internet. I was prompted to install one of your updates and I did. Afterwards, it would no longer connect. I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, but still I cannot connect to the Internet. My OS is Windows 7

After a Firefox upgrade/update, your firewall may not recognize that new version and will not allow access to the internet; that is your firewall doing its job. You may need to

  1. close Firefox (Firefox button > Exit or File > Exit)
  2. remove permissions for Firefox from your firewall's programs list
  3. restart Firefox
  4. allow your firewall to detect the new version and give the permissions needed by your firewall for Firefox to access the internet.
