Hi there, When browsing files within my computer through firefox with the url starting with file: instead of http. Say for example you are in a directory that shows you 4 files with following 4 different formate: One JPG One PNG One TIFF and One PSD

When you click on the JPG or PNG file, the file will be displayed/opened in the browser. But when you click on the TIFF or PSD file, firefox will ask you to choose an application to open the file with. From there you can select Photoshop if you want and the file will be opened in Photoshop straightaway.

Now, I need firefox to do the same thing with JPG and PNG format. Because I need JPG, PNG, TIFF and PSD all files opened in Photoshop instead of browser when they are clicked. Any idea how this can be achieved?

If installing an add-on can do this, can someone develop that add-on? How can I find a add-on developer to develop this add-on?

Or if a custom modification in installed core file can do the job I can do so but I need to know where and which file and how I should modify.

I really need this and any help will be very appreciated. Thanks Best regards

To do that you may need to use some proxy software to modify the HTTP response headers to make Firefox see a content type that isn't opened by default in the browser like happens with JPG and PNG files.

Thanks for your reply. Ok after I install the proxy software, what and how do I edit?
