I am running Firefox ESR 10.0.7. We have Java Version 6 Update 32 installed on our lab environment. I needed to update Java to overcome the security vulnerabilities associated with the version we had. I downloaded and installed Java Version 7 Update 7; However when I run Firefox (after multiple reboots and deleting the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox profile) the only plugin that shows up is still Java Version 6 Update 32. Firefox knows not of my Java Version 7 Update 7 installation. How do I get the plugin into Firefox?

Just so you know, Java 7 update 7 is actually vulnerable to a major security issue right not and Oracle doesn't have a fix yet. The latest 6 version (update 35 I think) is the only secure version of java right now. I'd uninstall 7 and update 6.

Go into Add or Remove Programs and uninstall everything with the word Java at the beginning of it (eg. JavaFX, Java JRE, Java Development Kit, etc.) and reinstall Java 7. Hope this helps!

Hi, You can find Java update 6 here:

http://java.com/en/download/manual_v6.jsp

It took me a bit of searching but alas I was successful in locating Update 6.
