Reflow text on tap-to-zoom

Is there addon or built-in way to enable text relow and font size increase on tap-to-zoom?

For example in competing browsers

- Go to site slashdot.org (classic version, not mobile one)

- Double tap any of article summaries

- Other browsers increase the paragraph text size to make it readable

On Firefox Android 20.0 beta nothing happens. The browser does not zoom in, the text stays small, unreadable.

Firefox, however, has a feature called "Pinch to reflow text" which does almost the same thing, but just it doesn't work as well and is unusable because it makes navigating around the site with pinch and zoom impossible: you do not end up to the same page position where you zoom in.

If there is no way to do this

- Is it technical barrier related to Gecko engine why this cannot be done (e.g. addon cannot fix the problem)

- Is it patent etc. problem why Mozilla would refuse to implement this feature

Having the same difficulty with pinch to zoom and reflow text feature. If the text I want to zoom is on the right side of the screen, and I use the pinch to zoom gesture (actually it is more "anti-pinch" for zoom) over the text I want to zoom in on, the screen view pops to the left margin of the page as soon as I take my hand off the screen, meaning I have to hunt for the text I just zoomed before I can read it. As the OP wrote, this severely limits the utility of the reflow feature.

Unlike the OP, though, I am happy with the means of zooming with reflow... the gesture is intuitive and easy, but having the view inexplicably change once I take my hand off makes no sense at all. Opera Mobile Classic does a much better job of this.
