What did you try so far in case you still have this problem?

If the places-maintenance extension didn't help then you have to delete the places.sqlite file to make Firefox to create a new file.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

So deleting the places.sqlite file to make Firefox to create a new file worked. Glad I had a bookmark backup. Thanks! Al
