If I have Flash plugin on my computer pages lock and I have to close using alt/cont/delete. When I remove Flash plugin the problems stops. BUT then I keep getting a popup saying I need the Flash plugin and the window always sits in the way of typing in a web address. This is a recent problem. I have tried removing Firefox and downloading again but to no avail. I have tried clicking install on the window but then my pages constantly lock. There seems to be an incompatibility with Flash and Firefox.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I do not get this problem with IE. What's the specific problem with Firefox and Flash plugin? Regretfully, I will have to forget Firefox and use another programme. That's a shame because I have used Firefox for some years now.
