Vimeo won't load properly, just the base HTML version; Vimeo support can't solve the problem, says it's not on their end. I can access through Chrome.

Out of the blue, a few weeks ago I wasn't able to load the Vimeo page, it just loads the base HTML version (white page with all the links in blue one under the other); I can't log in as it says my "form session has expired", which apparently relates to cookies. Vimeo support have been troubleshooting this for more than a week and none of the suggestions changed a thing, so they've conclude the problem is not on their end. I have cleared cache, cookies and history, there are no add ons, I have reset and restarted Firefox in safe mode, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, nothing changed. I have no problems with any other site and Chrome can access it, but I'd rather stay on Firefox. I've installed an earlier version of Firefox (3.6.26) and it let me load the Vimeo page, but since it's outdated it would cause problems with certain links, so I'm back to version 29. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is becoming quite inconvenient for me. Thanks Fil

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

You can check the Net log and Network log in the Inspector (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) to see which files are blocked and show a file size zero.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Sadly none of these steps changed the situation. I've attached a screenshot of what I see, maybe that can help understand what's wrong. Vimeo support says that if I still see the "form session has expired" message either my laptop's time is off or my Javascript is disabled, but it looks to me that both are active.

Working from the Vimeo support suggestion my time was off, I noticed that even though it looked right on my screen, the web times(such as emails, facebook posts etc) were some 7 hours ahead. I looked further into it and turned out my laptop's timezone was set to Australia, creating a discrepancy between the two time sets. I adjusted it to the right time zone and I can now Access Vimeo properly. Thanks for the help, Fil
