Firefox has been "missing" it's close button on the tabs, the back button, the menu, download indicator, pretty much everything except the address bar & google search bar. I've tried a reset and the F11 key. I've noticed that all of these things that are missing are present when I open new window, but after some surfing around, (regardless of what web sites I'm looking for/visiting), these things disappear. It simply makes no sense. The "missing" items seem to be hidden, I can hover over the locations where these are supposed to be, and for the most part, clicking will work. This is more of an annoyance than much else. Any thoughts?

This could unfortunately indicate some incompatibility between Firefox and your graphics card driver software. This can occur after an update of either. As a diagnostic, could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? That's set here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"

This will take effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it up again.

Any difference?

The "More System Details" to the right of your post shows some duplicate plugins. In particular:

  • Flash (Shockwave Flash) 13 and 15
  • Adobe Acrobat X and XI plugins

To avoid confusion for Firefox, it would be best to disable or remove the older versions. You may be able to disable the older one separately on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Plugins. Then see whether you have separate entries where you can set "Never Activate" for the older version.

If there are not separate entries, you might need to physically remove the files from disk. The file locations are available if you type or paste about:plugins in the address bar and press Enter.

Adobe also offers a clean-up tool for Flash (not sure about Adobe Reader) for stubborn cases. There's more info on that in this article: Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems.
