If I use Thunderbird to send emails, the mails don't show in my webmail sent folder.
Hi, I recently had to restore my mac from scratch and when I install thunderbird again (I am using a POP account) I could only get my inbox to syncronise. I read that that is because I am using pop. So no big deal, I moved manually my sent folder from my webmail to my thunderbird and now is working.
BUT suddenly when I send emails from my thunderbird (which some are arriving and some are not) my webmail doesn't get them synchronised in its sent folder which is a problem for me as I work remotely a lot.
How can I solve this? thanks so much paula

As you are using POP there is no synchronising with the server. This is not some Thunderbird quirk, it is how all pop mail accounts work.
Thunderbird gets access to download from server Inbox to Thunderbird pop mail account Inbox. That's it.
All sent emails will only show in the thunderbird pop mail Sent folder.
How can you resolve issue: 1. imap option: Create an imap mail account. IMAP mail accounts show a remote view of the server folders and their emails. You subscribe to see folders. See more info on imap here:
2, a workaround for a POP account When you send an email make sure you always have yourself entered as a Bcc. Then the server will receive a copy of the mail you sent in it's Inbox.
If you keep a copy of the message on the server, then you can access webmail, locate the Bcc'd email in the Inbox and move it to the webmail Sent folder. If Thunderbird sees the Bcc'd email in server Inbox it will get downloaded to the Thunderbird pop mail account Inbox.
You would have to make sure server keeps copies of messages. Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings for the pop mail account or right click on mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' then clickon 'Server Settings' for the pop mail account.
- Select: 'Leave messages on server'
- Select : 'Until I delete them'
As a precautionary note - make sure you do not reach your quota limit on server by deleteing unwanted emails that are on server.
Then whilst in Account Settings, set up an auto Bcc to yourself. click on 'Copies & Folders' for the pop mail account. When sending messages, section.
- Select: Bcc these email addresses and enter your email address.
- Click on OK to save changes to Account Settings.
