For privacy reasons, I want to delete ALL of my bookmarks. I have deleted them, but I have noticed that under Import and Backup, then Restore, there are folders of archived bookmarks under dates that go back for months containing past sets of bookmarks.

Firefox stores the bookmarks and history in the places.sqlite database. There are also backups in the bookmarkbackups folder.

I figured this out. You have to get into the Profiles folder and delete them there.

I'm using FF 47.0, and I found my profile folder. But there are three types of sqlite files: sqlite-wal, sqlite-shm, and sqlite. Should all three be deleted?

more options

Yes. You need to remove the main places.sqlite file and the places.sqlite-shm and places.sqlite-wal temporary SQLite files to remove all bookmarks and history.
