Suggest you try this: Click on the Windows button and enter %temp% into the Run or Search field displayed. It opens a Windows Explorer window displaying the contents of the Windows Temp directory. Delete any files that have names referring to Thunderbird. Shutdown any anti-virus software you are running. Download a new copy of the full installer from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all/ Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird (or if running 64bit the program will be here C:\Program Files(x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird) Run the Thunderbird installer. Restart the anti-virus program.

Start Thunderbird.
