My Profile Folder seems to be in the Old Data Folder which was created some time ago. Both the shortcuts on the desktop and Toolbar direct the program to the Old Data Folder. I have tried reinstalling Firefox but nothing changes. When I examine files in the Old Data folder they are being updated when I use Firefox so it is all live. I have tried troubleshooting and this gives me the Profile Data file stored in C:\Users\Kev\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\wlo79jtu.default-1520251****** but nothing seems to be directed there from the Old Data Folder. How can I get Firefox to run from the correct place and keep my data?

I have tried to manually change the Properties for the shortcuts but that does not work.

Did you check the target line in the desktop shortcut to see if it specifies a full path to the profile?

You can also check the profiles.ini file.

The command line reads "C:\Users\Kev\Desktop\Old Firefox Data\a9kiokif.default\firefox.exe" Icon on Taskbar and the desktop shortcut.

the command line I sent you yesterday does not have an *,exe file in the folder.

I'm stumped as to how this happened, but I would like to get rid of the Old Firefox Folder folder on the desktop, but can't because the program starts from there.

You will have to uninstall/remove the Firefox version in that folder on the desktop and reinstall the current Firefox release in its default location.
