could not access the internet thru mozilla firefox so I called comcast to see if there were any problems with the internet service in my area and comcast stated there was no problems. They accessed my account and showed that I was connected asked what problem did i have, i explained and they tried to help me by following some steps. Firefox was still giving me a can not connect message and was told to contact firefox thru the web

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
