the problem is with adblock plus add-on. When I disabled it, everything work fine. I suspect yahoo does not want people to disable the ads. Really bad practice if if ask me. Pathetic yahoo.

I had this problem as well, and I found this discussion. There is no need to disable AdBlock, just check your filters and remove any rules related to yahoo domain. After this it started working for me, and all 3rd party ads are still not showing up.
