When I open a web page the cursor is in the url window.... how do I have it start out in the application window...i.e. Google search box

When I open a web page the cursor is in the url window.... how do I have the cursor start out in the application search field... i.e. Google is homepage... put the cursor in the Google search bar to start with.

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
