When I use AT&T mail I get this popup message:

Your browser is blocking Flash. You must have Flash 9.0 or higher installed and unblocked to run an openmail application. You can download and install the latest Flash Player here

But I already have the most recent version of Flash.

FYI, this issue is affecting Google Chrome users on AT&T/Yahoo! mail as well: Your browser is blocking Flash - Google Groups. Perhaps it is a script error in the mail system.

In that thread, it says if you can switch back to the "Classic" view in your Inbox, the problem goes away.

I haven't seen this, but I don't use Yahoo! mail very often. What steps do you take to trigger the pop-up?

I'm sure this message is annoying, but does it seem to break any of the functionality of Yahoo! mail? Just wondering whether it could be related to any of the advertising in the page rather than Yahoo! mail itself.

It happens every time I go to the yahoo mail website. Once I close the popup message Yahoo! mail works fine.

I have been getting the same message for the last three days, but I get it when I go to mt AT&T mail, not my Yahoo mail. As far as I know, my Yahoo mail works fine.

I did mean AT&T mail, edited the question.

Do either of you use any add-ons that block Flash or ads? You could try Yahoo! mail or AT&T mail (most likely provided by Yahoo!) in Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether it is caused by a custom setting or add-on.

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."

If you no longer get the message, an add-on would be the prime culprit. If you still get it, we would have to consider other factors.

Any luck?

I still get the message in Safe Mode. Switching to Classic View does stop the popup but I didn't have the problem with "New" AT&T mail before so I hope the problem can be solved. Yesterday I contacted AT&T tech support who said it was a browser issue.

For Yahoo mail, reply from Cww for an explanation and workaround in this post --> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/924230#answer-323590

Here's what happened: Last week, Adobe updated the way they report the Flash version (not Firefox version but the version of Flash) as part of a Flash update. It seems that Yahoo Mail didn't update their code to check correctly and so it looks like (to them) that Flash isn't working (they can see that you have it installed but the version check code doesn't work).

This needs to be fixed on the Yahoo side. In the meantime, you could try to switch to Classic view in Yahoo mail & At&t Mail.

Same explanation may apply to other sites not recognizing your installed version of Flash (Add-ons > Plugins > "Shockwave Flash" version); for a workaround, contact the site.
