flash videos don't play in firefox, interestingly in both OS(windows and ubuntu) installed on my laptop, but play fine on other browsers like chrome

i have tried reinstalling firefox, abobe flash player, turning off hardware acceleration, cleared cookies and cache, running on the safe mode, turning off the antivirus, turning off the associated extensions (some of these steps don't explain why it wouldn't work in ubuntu, but i anyways tried them). Nothing works!! and This is creepy, really creepy !!

Same problem, videos play more like a slide-show with sound, if they play at all. Some just start & stop and are completely unusable. Yet they work just fine on other browsers, even my Safari, which is not the most up-to-date... Firefox won't stream, and keeps running up it's RAM & CPU usage, no matter what I do...
