maps.google.com crashes firefox 31.0 every time. Plug-ins up to date. Just started within last few days.

Firefox version 31.0. All plug-ins show as up to date except Microsoft Office (unknown) nVidea 3d (unknown) and Photo Gallery (unknown). None of these plugins have caused issues previously. It does not matter whether I go to Google maps directly or through a link. Map starts to show, gets about 90% done, then firefox crashes. On restart, Firefox asks to reopen all tabs EXCEPT google maps tab.

I have also tried starting Firefox in SAFE mode, but it still crashes.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache

Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

and

  • Remove Cookies

Warning ! ! This will log you out of all sites you're logged in to. Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. There is a button on the right side called Show Cookies.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

I tried all of these suggestions, but no luck. I have started using yahoo maps, which works. Google maps still crashes.
