Hi,

I just downloaded Firefox 32.0.3 and I imported my Favorites from Internet Explorer. The bookmarks function but they do not have any ICONS. Is there a way to get them to show the same icons that I see in Internet Explorer?

Thanks, Tom

The favicon will be added as each bookmark is used. The manner in which IE favorites are exported by Windows isn't compatible with the Firefox storage system for the "favicon data string".

Hi,

It works for some bookmarks as i click on them, but not for all. Such as Google. Is there a way to fix all of the bookmarks imported from Internet Explorer as a group rather than one at at a time?

No there isn't. As I already mentioned, IE / Windows exports IE Favorites in a format that isn't directly compatible with Firefox 3.0-Plus versions, so a "common format" is used. [Browsers use the "universal" Netscape-Bookmark-file-1 bookmarks.html legacy format {circa 1995} for "exporting Favorites / Bookmarks", which doesn't handle favicon data, which didn't include Favicons.]

The only way you might be able to do that is to use Xmarks or Comet Marks to synchronize your IE Favorites with Firefox bookmarks. But I have never used Xmarks at all, and have never used Comet Marks with IE Favorites. I don't know if Favicons are synchronized with either application, and if they are synchronized to each respective server, I don't know if they will carry over to Firefox.

If you do decide to use either one, make sure you disable it before attempting to use Firefox Sync. Comet Marks doesn't "play well" with Sync [my experience with Comet Marks] and many users have mentioned in this forum multiple duplications of their bookmarks when using Xmarks with Sync.
