I've created a BLOCKED SENDERS filter in my main email addres, including over 100 email addresses - can I switch that filter to the correct address?

I've just spent ages adding a stack of email addresses to a filter I've just created. I've called it BLOCKED SENDERS LIST. I've been hit by a virus attack and I've realised it might be from one of these junk emails that have been arriving over the past few months.

I finally realised they might be the problem so I've created a filter to automatically delete them. There are so many because (I can only assume) they're using a program that keeps creating new email addresses to mail from, and new names for the senders.

Anyway, all I can do is add them all to this new filter, and add any new ones that arrive as well. My problem is this:

When I'd finished the filter and I ran it, nothing happened. I realised I'd created it for another of my email addresses (my main one). Is there a way to switch that filter to the email address that is affected? I really, really don't want to have to go through the process again of entering every single one manually.

If anyone can advise I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

Is there any particular reason why you suspect that? Even if you receive a malicious email, as long as you don't open it and you don't click a potentially malicious attachment or link, it won't do any harm.

Not exactly. Typically spammers do use existing email addresses of innocent people as From email when sending spam. As you already figured out, you're chasing a moving target. Therefore, the attempt to use a static filter to fight spam is a battle you cannot win. Better use the built-in junk mail controls. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Junk_Mail_Controls
