Red text or background on one mail in inbox

On a couple occasions, a single email in the inbox has changed coloring from default black to red. This is for all the fields I display (Subject, From, Date). If I click once on the email to highlight it, the background is a bright red and the text becomes white (see image). I suspect I inadvertently clicked an option to highlight that particular email, but can't find it or how to change it back. Just curious....

Disregard. I discovered it is a 'Tag' and removed it. I was not aware of those previously.
