I'm having trouble with deleting bookmarks
when I try to delete a bookmark I am unable to do so.
I can delete a bookmark if I open firefox and after browsing for a little while, press control n. If I have a firefox window open without pressing control n I cannot delete any bookmarks
I've tried deleting the places.sqlite databass and resetting Firefox with no luck.
I then Uninstaled Firefox along with all the folders that the installer left behind.
I installed firefox again and then added the old Firefox data bookmarks back into firefox and had the same problem. So from that I assume that something is wrong with my bookmarks and the places.sqlite databass but have no idea how to fix it.
I've tried installing an addon called Places Maintenance but that didn't fix it.
Just to make things clear, I am unable to delete bookmarks from the first browser window that opens up when I start firefox.
Thank you for reading, Brad.

Have you ever exported your bookmarks as HTML It may be a thought. Then can import them again in any Firefox or some other browsers.
If can save your Passwords would be good (I open passwords then take screenshots), Export bookmarks and then wipe your profile out then reinstall Firefox 56.0.2 current version from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
Is drastic but will work and quickly.
Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Hello.
Thank you for your answer. My problem is solved for now, but will firefox, the creaters not the volunteers actually be working on a fix?
This has happened on an off for a year or two now and this HTML fix is great but it would be even better if the creaters of Firefox could look into this.
i've read on another thread that there is no contact number for mozilla. If that is true, how do bugs like this get fixed?
Hello Pkshadow.
Firefox is broken again when it comes to bookmarks. It worked for a little while but now I am unable to bring up the menu that will allow me to delete bookmarks. I use alt b, then find a bookmark and use the applications key but nothing happens.
I've been using firefox for quite afew years now and this problem has happened to me quite a bit. I must admit, I don't like it much but I am considering switching to Google Chrome or Edge. I like firefox, it's easy to use but if I have bookmarks I can't delete when needed then that's one function I won't be able to use in the way I would like.
I can delete bookmarks through pressing control shift b and tabbing to the bookmarks menu then tabbing again and arrowing down through my bookmarks and then pressing the applocations key and then d. So I wonder why pressing alt b then arrowing through the bookmarks there won't allow me to bring up the menu to delete them.
