When I select a different format printer, it still prints the layout/size of the default printer.

We use a browser based point-of-sale system. Our default printer is an Epson thermal receipt printer. It is set as the system default, and I've turned the 'save_printer' to false in about:config. The problem is when you want to print something to a large format (for invoicing a client, or printing a repair sheet), of if you want to use a PDF printer (bullzip or cutepdf for example), it prints on the new printer you've selected, but it prints the format of the receipt printer (narrow and long). All the preferences in the 8.5" x 11" printer, or the pdf printer are correct for full format printing, but it still prints incorrectly.

When I use the Chrome browser, it has it's own printer dialog option that allows me to print to pdf or another printer, and it all works properly. Problem is that the POS software works best in Firefox, and it is recommended as the browser to use.

When I speak to the support at the POS company, they have tried to help, but have said that it's a Firefox related issue, and that it could get sorted out in a future update, but I don't know if they're certain about that.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Daniel

Did you install the printer driver software onto the computer your printing from? What version of FF are you using?

I installed the large format printer driver on this computer directly. The default receipt printer is connected to a different computer, but the driver was installed on this machine directly, and the print jobs are rendered on the client computers (so this machine).
