It has a default saved location set otherwise you will everytime have to change to the save locations to where you want it to go everytime.

I think that Firefox would remember (save) the download folder for each file extension as part of the Site Preferences, so make sure that you keep the Site Preferences and aren't using Private Browsing mode.

  • clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
