ios 13.3.1 when “dark mode” is enabled there is no “dimming” the colors just invert making the page difficult to read. also, several settings options i have read about trying to fix this do not appear in the settings list

I believe, yes, the dark mode on iOS is just a simple inversion. Some of the changes I see available are usually website focused (ie, you'd change your code on your website you were designing to behave better under inversion)

Would love to be told I'm wrong though.
