I have an add-on that runs fine in Chrome. In FF v75 and older it keeps locking up FF with the message that it is slowing FF, what do I want to do? I want FF to stop giving me the message and handle it like Chrome does. Can I fix this short of making Chrome my default browser. IE, I want the add-on to work in FF the way it works in Chrome.

Unfortunately this comes down to the add-on developer to fix whatever issue is causing it to not play nice with FF compared to Chrome

well, I found a couple of timeouts for scripts in the prefs file under DOM..... and doubled them and the problem appears to have gone away. Time will tell.

If Chrome also monitors operation and has timeouts for things, they are much more generous than FF. The occurrence of the hangup, since I doubled the timeouts, has decreased about 90%. When the "slowdown" is happening, I do not notice it. But I sure notice when FF STOPS to give me the warning that it was slowing down. I prefer a longer timeout rather than a constant stopping.
