Whenever I open a new window, it starts in a certain standard size (at least in Firefox 77). In earlier versions it would always open "maximised". So for me this behaviour changed (not sure exactly in which version it changed). Since I use my browser almost always with maximised windows, I have to maximise manually all the time now, and that is inconvenient. How can I get the old behaviour back? Preferably I would be able to establish a size I like (maximised, or otherwise as big a size as I set), and then save those settings for the future. Alternatively, I would also be happy if Firefox remembers the size of the window I closed latest. Is there any way to accomplish this?

Hi McCoy,

Thanks for your response. It certainly helped. I'm very happy with it. :-)

I couldn't help noticing that this feature was obviously implemented as a privacy measure. Somehow that feels a bit awkward. It seems that a window opening in a maximised state should be a non-privacy issue. I can imagine that the exact size of the window would give some potential for a privacy breach, but it is difficult for me to understand that a window opening in a maximised state, is also a privacy issue.

I noticed there are also sub-entries in the config under "privacy.resistFingerprinting", and somehow it seems that that this solution might turn off the entire "resistFingerprinting" feature, while I would hope that the rest of the anti-fingerprinting measures would stay intact. Are you aware if more than only window-size anti-fingerprinting measures are affected? Thanks in advance...
