Can I export only specified bookmarks, or a specific bookmark folder, or is it all or nothing? If I export the whole thing to a .json file or to an HTML file, can I then import only selected bookmarks. (I want to copy a bookmark folder from one Mac to another. Different OS versions, same Firefox versions.)

Exporting bookmarks is all or nothing and you can't export a folder. You will have to create an HTML backup and edit this file to keep only wanted bookmarks to have file with selected bookmarks or folders.
