When a user receives a message with French characters the message appears fine. When the user then attempts to forward the message to someone else with the Forward INLINE set, the body text of the message replaces all special French characters (characters with accents) with in the message before it has been sent.

For example: This line: Voir le bon de commande en pièce jointe pour l'un des établissements Becomes this: Voir le bon de commande en pice jointe pour l'un des tablissements

If we cut and paste the body text from the original into the message to be forwarded - no problem. If we send the original message as an attachment in the forwarded message - no problem.

The problem only appears when we attempt to forward with inline text and it only appears on one computer.

I have not been able to find the setting that causes this problem or if there is a conflict between Thunderbird settings and a Windows setting.

Any suggestion as to where to look or what is going wrong on this one computer would be appreciated.

Thanks...

I would look in settings>general and the advanced button for fonts. Compare settings for PC that works right with the other one. I generally avoid Arial and set 'Latin' and 'OtherWritingSystems' to be identical. Calibri works, and I'm sure many others do too.
