How do it set up my web browser so it lists the websites i frequently visit when i pull down the search bar? Now it just lists the google searches i have conducted.

Open Settings > Search and go down to Address Bar and tick the 'Browsing history' box
You are using the location/address bar and not the standalone search bar?
