Hi.

Check if Javascript is enabled. It's also possible that some extension is causing the issue.

more options

I have the latest javascript and it's enabled.

Go to Foxnews.com.

Scroll down to Features & Faces and click on a link to see if you can get past the 1st 'slide' in one of the features. It doesn't work on any of my systems 930 but works fine in IE.

"latest javascript"

That's not a thing. Javascript is not Java, it's embedded code on the web pages. To make sure it's enabled go into Tools > Options > Content and check "Enable javascript".

As I said, it's possible that some extension is causing problems. Have you tried disabling them and trying to use the site? Running in safe mode will do it.

Enable Javascript is checked [I meant to say that.] This is a new problem since 3.6.3. Has anyone tried going down the links that I suggested above to see if you have a similar problem?

I did try and I have no problem.

Have you tried safe mode?

I disabled all of my extensions... same problem. No problem in IE.

more options

Yes, working perfectly.

more options

Hum, so you disabled them and it doesn't work still? Try clearing Firefox's cache.

Cache is cleared... had been each time. Same problem. IE works fine.

Curiously, it works fine with other sources such as SkyNews and MSNBC. I think something [HTML language?] is unacceptable/incompatible or in error in the FoxNews web site.

That shouldn't be the case, since it works ok from my end. Do this:

- copy your Firefox shortcut (or create a shortcut) into some location of your choice (it doesn't matter where, this is just temporary) - right click the new shortcut and select properties - I can't remember how it is in XP, but somewherein the properties window there's a field called "Target" with the location of firefox.exe. Add the following text to that field: " -profilemanager" without the comas but with the white space at the start. The result should be something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -profilemanager

- With Firefox closed, start that new shortcut. It will start Firefox's profile manager - using the profle manager, create a new profile (be careful not to delete or change your current one because you'll go back to using it after all this) - start firefox using that profile and try again to see if you can see the slideshow - close firefox and run that new shortcut again and select your old profile. Run firefox with it. Now you can delete the new shortcut (if you want) and keep running firefox with your normal shortcut, as it will use your own profile every time.

If the new profile has the same problem, which I very much doubt, it's something to do with your installation of Firefox or some application in your computer that's causing the issue. If it doesn't have the same problem, do this:

- type about:support in your location bar and press enter - click "copy all to clipboard" - paste here (just do type a new message, and paste in the textfield and submit)

Hopefully that will help us understand what's going on.

OK.... At this point, I do not believe that it's unique in my computer system. The reason is that all 3 of my computers are using 3.6.3 and all three have the same problem. IE and Opera function just fine with the following slide show link:

http://www.foxnews.com/slideshow/opinion/2010/05/10/photo-op-movies-lindsay-lohan-miley-cyrus-britney-spears-obama-pelosi#slide=1?test=faces

But Firefox does not on any of my systems. Given my testing, I'm now convinced that the problem is Firefox's and it is a bug.

If you think it's a bug, please file it in bugzilla.mozilla.org .

Although I should say, once again, that I can't replicate it from my side, and I'm runny an heavy-duty build full of extensions and scripts...

I had the same problem on 5 computers for the last few days. I disabled Adblock Plus to no avail, even on a browser restart. I just forced an update on all subscriptions in the Adblock Plus extension and, so far, 2 computers display properly.

Phil, Thank you. I forced an update as you suggested and it now is working! Thanks again.
