Firefox 3.6.3 won't automatically open a jpeg downloaded from a photo site I use even though I've told it to in applications.

How do I get photo files to open with photoshop cs3 when dowloaded from photo site? I have checked open with photoshop cs3 in the applications panel in preferences but jpgs and tiffs won't open (only save) when downloaded via firefox 3.6.3 (using mac os 10.4.11). I have older firefox version 3.5.9 on another computer (same os) and it works there.

I went back to 3.5.9 and it works but ought to be fixed in the new version...
