Firefox won't remember new usernames & passwords, I click the button but it will not remember!
when I go to a site that I want Firefox to remember the username and password I type the new one and the bar appears at the top asking if I want it to remember this, I click yes and then it doesn't do anything. The bar doesn't disappear and the password doesn't get remembered it just stays there until I change the page. It remembers everything up to a certain point in time (probably about six months ago, sorry I can't be sure?) but will remember no new ones.
This happened
Every time Firefox opened
== I can't remember but I think about six months ago

The troubleshooting link provided contains no answer whatsoever to the problem cited. Many others are having this issue also, including myself, and the problem is explicitly that nothing happens when you click the "Remember" button. Does anyone have a solution to that?
If clicking the "Remember" button doesn't have effect then that means that the Password Manager isn't working properly.
Did you try to rename (move) the files key3.db and all signons files (signons.sqlite and possible signons#.txt from older Firefox versions)?
When I changed it to the old toolbar instead of the new one, accessed the password manager by going to Tools->Options->Security->Saved Passwords, and then tried to save a password, it started saving passwords.
