I'm running XP SP3 and once I was upgraded to Ver5, every time I open Firefox I get multiple instance of it (current as many as 18). Also pinned several website is the app menu but once Firefox is closed they do not show up again, nor when I leave websites open in tabs, the next time I start FF they do not open again and I believe I have the correct setting in Options checked. This is very frustrating.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
