restarting after a crash, i get a list of available sessions to restore, the top one being "current crashed session". sometime while restoring, I get some kind of an error, e.g. an unresponsive script etc. I tell it not to use debugging etc. and cancel the script. the reload will end. when I restart again, this "last crashed session" is gone from the list! the first one showing as the "current crashed session" is a nothing session with 1 tab and my startup page - but the real crashed session with multiple tabs or windows is completely gone from the list, never to be seen again! where is it?

If you have tried everything else and you cannot find a solution, if no other answer suits you, if you don't care for browsing history, bookmarks and offline data,

then

1) uninstall completely Firefox. 2) wait 24 hours 3) meanwhile update JAVA and Flash 4) if you can also clean up temporary files and you know how, it's better (XP is easy) 5) after 24 hours or more, download a new file from www.mozilla.org and install Firefox again. While installing, customize it manually and not automatically. You will see it's easy no need to be an expert for that.

PS: you should use your PC during this 24 hours, at least 1 time after you restart it and after you removed Firefox completely.

PS: among all browsers, Firefox remains the best. If Explorer doesn't show you crash problems, it doesn't mean it's as stable as Firefox.
